>Millimeter waves can also harm insects and promote the growth of drug-resistant pathogens This gives me tinfoil-hat vibes to be honest. Why would millimeter waves specifically promote the growth of drug-resistant pathogens? What's

Disagree on the comparison - at least if you only use the web platforms. Word for web is miles behind the experience of using Google Docs, with many settings you simply can't change. I think the desktop versions are a different story t

This might be a stupid question because I don't know much about Linux development. Have these patches been accepted into the kernel? Or are they still just "propsals"?

It seems like bitcoin enthuasiasts can always determine why something is good for bitcoin. If more people hash the system is more robust but if less people hash then it's.. uh.. also good?

Wait, so is your argument that it should be okay to pay people dirt-poor wages because Amazon used to get away with it? I get that it's a classic tactic to avoid a loophole in legislation and then build a regulatory moat afterwards, bu

This is still a huge deal though. Facebook and google scour so much data through stuff like facebook pixels and google analytics - there's no need to give them anymore than what they already have.

Logrocket finds writers on other sites like Medium and approaches them and pays them reasonable rates (2-500$ per post iirc) to write for them. Source: I have written for them in the past.

After having tried Microsoft's automatic captioning on Microsoft Stream which is akin in accuracy to monkeys typing something random on a typewriter, I think this seems like a good choice.

Hm, we've had our startup page hosted with Wix for a few years. I had no idea they were doing all of this shady stuff. What are some good alternatives if I'm looking to migrate? Is squarespace less shady?

That's an oddly biased article: "The misperception.." ... "rival messaging apps like Telegram and Signal, both of which were quick to exploit the situation" I think being skeptical of these anti-privacy moves is per

One of the things I've encountered as a startup doing the danish equivalent of a SOC2 is issues with VendorSec. (We don't have much revenue yet, but our customer segment really cares about this sort of documentation) is that many

You realize this is crazy-talk right? No country has avoided a pretty wild amount of casualties without locking down. If the evidence was so strong, you'd think at least one of them would have succeeded with this strategy.

At least if you're on a Linux desktop, the GSuite experience is vastly better than the online Office 365 one, as there's no desktop clients. That's a pretty small market segment though.

Not the OP but I have similar experiences and am also very introspective. For me, my introspection dealt a lot with what my thoughts were and how I behaved, but I had a lot of feelings that I had suppressed so deeply they never really came

Certainly it makes sense when talking about hospital capacity - but it does give a bit of a skewed impression when you're looking at the hospitalizations re: cases. You'd be surprised. Around 1/7th of the covid hospitalizatio

That's different from country to country. In Denmark hospitalizations are counted as covid hospitalizations for example, even if you arrive due to e.g. a broken leg, but you have covid. Not sure about deaths though.

Is there a good implementation of makeObservable() somewhere? I haven't been able to find one that seemed to work elegantly. Patching @Output and @Input is supremely painful - I really wish there was some sort of shorthand for that.
