If you want to use a journaling system digitally, I would suggest starting a slack chatroom for just yourself. It's designed for teams, but using the simple chatroom interface for just yourself works surprisingly well.

As someone who does both Django and Rails, I suggest Rails. Rails is very "do it the Rails way" about putting together a website, while Django lets you kind of do whatever. If you're a beginner, the do whatever part of Django

Nope, haven't run into any issues. I scrape Craigslist from RSS and the others from the HTML. I only hit the sites once an hour, and leave a unique browser string so they can filter me out of their analytics. My e-mail is in my profile

I think the easiest way to do this is have a little lock icon when you're previewing the photo after you've taken it. Clicking on the icon makes it private (i.e. it doesn't go to the cloud and goes into a "private"
