I know this won't help in the short term but I would highly encourage you to participate in hackathons or work on side projects and list those on your resume along with what you learned. It gives you character and makes yourself memora

Out of curiosity, what's the reasoning behind going with C++? Just for fun or is there some advantage to C++ over other languages for sockets?

It would be super easy to convert this to html if you wanted to because the format is so similar. But also, at this point, wouldn't it just be easier to just write it in HTML and make the actual product or use a framework like bootstr

Maybe the author meant that there is a lean towards gulp over grunt? Not sure. but my company still uses grunt in production

Also, lets not forget React Native. NO other framework can prove that compatibility with mobile. A React programmer can now cover both web and mobile development with relative ease. I'm not saying that React Native or React is perfect,

Post everywhere! Let everyone know you are trying to freelance. Go to meetups and meet other freelancers. The larger your network, the better you will do.
