In jj, pulled commits are immutable by default. Commits that you author are mutable until you push them. If I'm on a project with change AAA -> BBB, suppose my friend authors CCC and I author DDD. So my history looks like: AAA

jj was inspired by a bunch of internal Google tooling around their VCS, which was originally built on top of Perforce, so I'm not surprised the history shows through a little.

Burnout, PTSD, and high turnover are also hallmarks of suicide hotline operators. The difference? The reputable hotlines care a lot more about their employees' mental health, with mandatory breaks, free counseling, full healthcare bene

What does “straight line” mean? It looks like the curvature of the earth could be significant at this scale. Does it mean that the compass’s bearing never changes? That wouldn’t produce a perfect sphere chord though.

FYI your website shows me a static image on iOS 18.2 Safari. Strangely, the progress bar still appears to “loop,” but the bird isn’t moving at all. Turning content blockers off does not make a difference.

This isn't true. Transformer architectures generally take quadratic time wrt sequence length, not exponential. Architectural innovations like flash attention also mitigate this somewhat. Backtracking isn't involved, transformers a
