> coding only works because it's formal and 100% reliable This is not true for distributed systems: clock skew that is unpredictably different on different devices and networks are inherently unreliable. Real word physics is messy.

I would add (in 2022) the bolt on support of UTF-8 via a separate set of API functions.

I'm a bit surprised that database query pagination isn't directly mentioned as one of the use cases. The (async) generator wraps the paginated calls to the DB and yields pages or individual documents / rows. It's about a

It’s fundamentally an issue of trust and unsurprisingly Microsoft still hasn’t changed from its “embrace, extend, extinguish” days: already there are add-on that only work with their official VSCode binary (e.g. the remote code sharing add-

“Working in IT” is pretty broad, but a senior JS dev in London can reasonably ask for 70-90k these days, sometimes more.

Our company does 5 interviews for a developer position: pre-screen with recruiter, hiring manager, pair programming, tech deep dive and one with one of the founders. Having been through the process as a candidate and now involved in it as a

In my experience, trying too hard or being attached to opinions is certainly a limitation with just about anything. For me the perspective offered in that video was simply to be aware of this perspective existing, i.e. a paradigm shift. I d

It’s not really a language thing. I would never use Java again simply because it is owned by Oracle but I am sure it is possible to use it elegantly. Just that it seems this is not the mainstream way. So this is going back 5 years or so. We
