It’s also what’s called a high prestige low pay career which is by definition exclusionary of poor and middle income people, so the news makers are further and further detached from regular people. https://economistwritingeveryda

This is not the problem. We should not castigate people who want to build homes and earn a rightful profit from that endeavor. The problem is the undemocratic process that is the town hearing. It is unreasonable to expect working families a

What we do is enforce that everyone keeps one ticket in JIRA as in progress and use a timekeeping add on. The tickets role up to epics and initiatives. I review each top level initiative and epic with finance and they deem it capitalizable

I also prefer the time change system we have. I recognize there are obvious draw backs, but echoing a sibling comment about London. I’m confident if we stopped changing clocks annually, we’d resume the practice in a few years. It is just be

This is no joke. Run an e-commerce site and have been generally skeptical of WAFs but had to sign up for a bot mitigation service because it became out of control two years ago. These bots were even executing JavaScript and loading third pa

Does this mean there’s a lot of bird flu in the bay? The news has been saying Bay Area hospitals are full of flu patients. https://www.sfchronicle.com/health/article/california-severe...

Has this actually been a problem? We’ve been using launch darkly for years and if they do have an outage (which is really really rare) the flag will be set to the default value. It’s also very very cheap, maybe $500 a month.

Whenever I encounter a pull request that I find many issues with, I ask to meet with the engineer and review it one on one. More than half of the workplace problems engineers have is due to their introverted nature and their refusal to get

It’s not just superstition. Air conditioned air can be bad for you if you’re not maintaining it. It is also drying so it can bother your throat, eyes, and skin. It might make it easier to transmit COVID though that might just be in door air

There are people who drink unpasteurized milk. Wondering if that could be a vector for it to jump to humans?

I don’t think that’s what the GP is saying. It’s more like beverages exist but certain ones are worse for you (like alcoholic ones) than others. It’s what’s being consumed that is important not its medium. I don’t know if I agree with that

I’m not an expert but I could definitely see an entomological connection between putto in Italian meaning castrated orphan if what the above poster says is true and puto in Spanish which is often a slur against gay men.

That is just not true. Apple is the most valuable company in the world, with the largest market cap. Steve Jobs died twelve years ago. The Apple Watch and Air Pods have been huge successes, so has their push into services. They also have th
