I literally JUST bought a Thumby out of a vending machine this past weekend, so this post feels a bit serendipitous for me. Thanks for sharing, and I'll have to check this out!

While I would love to agree with you, in America restaurants of all sizes (and personal transportation companies) seemingly often rely on tips from customers to supplement the wages of their workers instead of just paying them fairly.

This is really cool! I'd be curious if one could 3D print different resonance chambers to get different desired sounds from the speaker.

Who knows? That may have already been an angle somebody campaigned on, but only behind closed doors and to particularly generous campaign donors...

Perhaps this is a stupid/contentious idea (partly because it somewhat kills the "spirit" of the original games), but there's a little part of me that would be interested in seeing the scene building parts of Zork piped i

I experience this, but only with YouTube Shorts. Video loads, but none of the elements around it.

Not the person you asked, but look up "Hilbert Curve" on Thingiverse, Printables, or Thangs and I bet you'll find somebody who uploaded a marble run with more information for you.

Please do! Also just some footage of the machine running from specific angles for a few minutes would be lovely! Nice work! :)

I'm not the person you asked, but depending on what kinds of quality of life improvements you're looking for, your budget, your 3D design abilities, and your tolerance for working on the printer versus printing with it, the answer

I don't disagree with you, but if I prompted an LLM to ask me questions like a doctor would for a non-invasive assessment, would it ask me better or worse questions than an actual doctor? I ask (somewhat rhetorically) to get the mind t

Although I normally loathe pedantic assholes, I've found the ones on HN seem to be more tolerable because they typically know they'll have to back up what they're saying with facts (and ideally citations). I've found tha

Personally, I'd say you should definitely add a disclaimer, otherwise a discussion that would likely gain traction is that the information might be being intentionally concealed.

For someone just learning about the Therac-25 incident, what more recent cases would've worked better to foster discussion that can also be read about?

I like this idea and could see it being visually represented as a faint red/green bar behind the URL text in the address bar, with a greater amount of the bar being red when the domain is less trusted. As for developers trusting a plug

There are reddit communities (I admittedly don't remember which, but could probably be found from a simple search) where people will offer their photo editing skills to touch up the photo, often for free. Could be worth trying a real h

Not related to the OP, but no you don't. Just look up how to skip the "OOTB (out of the box) experience" and you can still bypass having to set up a cloud account on Windows 11 and can just set up a local account like normal.
