Humans can't explain why we do things, so I guess we're not intelligent either?

The same is true for a human brain in a vat. It's even true for humans historically, it took us millenia to figure out science. When robots are powered by transformers or the like, I expect we'll see some pretty impressive results

You're missing the entire point. Now the president can't be prosecuted for taking a bribe, even if he publicly declares that's the reason for doing so.

Legal fiction. It was convenient to treat them as persons for legal reasons, but it's now clear that we need to clarify that with an amendment.

The GPL is a clever hack of a broken system. Given copyright existing, I like the GPL's protections. I would rather take no copyright, as that would address many (but not all) of the reasons the GPL exists.

Are there any efforts to push functionality like this into the HTML standard? It would be nice if htmx eventually became unnecessary as browsers implemented it, and the work you're doing with proving it out in the wild seems like a cru

It's not actually a limitation, the ecosystem is just young: https://github.com/iced-rs/iced My general point though is that there's still some ecosystem/legacy reasons to stick with C++, but Rust very m

I don't really see the distinction you're making. C++ will still be around for legacy projects that don't want to switch, but I can't think of a new project that would benefit from picking C++ over Rust, apart from needi

Economies of scale are working great for solar. I suspect economies of scale don't work specifically for coal, because people don't want a bunch of pollution machines scattered everywhere. It's better to centralize and regula

I think you're confused about curation and unlimited freedom being possible? Those are not at odds with each other. Game devs will provide a world that they enjoy creating stories in. They'll playtest characters and write their ba

Before Minecraft came out, you'd be complaining about "Procedurally-generated slop", and saying there's no way a game like that would work. LLMs won't generate items or houses (or at least be the primary source). Th

So don't use an LLM that always affirms your assertions. Easy peasy. I don't understand your beef. My awkward dialogue was just to demonstrate that the LLM can pick up on all of these things you claim it can't. The LLM wouldn
