I use flathub pretty much to run proprietary software (which does not have the source available and can't compiled against musl/alpine) and for that it works pretty nicely. But I would 100% rather have those on my package manager,

Invidious[^1]. You can enabled/disable what you mentioned (and much more). You can't login with your youtube account but you can import your channels (what I did). You can find public instances but they are a bit hit or miss since

I have had that issue from time to time. What I did to solve that was to install plugin to extract the subtitle. Now it works perfectly (on webos tv client at least).

No, it is not a demonstration of anything. I'm not saying there is no fragmentation on linux, there is. There are many solution that try to fix that: appimage, flatpak, snap and what not. All of them of some degree of success, and pitf

No, it is unfeasible (at least for me) to validate every single package. So at some point I have to trust someone/ some party and I chose to trust more the maintainers of my distro than a person asking me to run sudo from curl.

I think the same thing. Before git I was using TFVC and git was huge improvement in pretty much every aspect of code version control.

Well, I can't read it at all. The scroll behaviour is really off. It jumps around on the slightest scroll. Why even do that? Edit: on firefox it works better (I was on qute), but it still snaps into places while scrolling which makes r
