That is not the real question. Choosing another language won't fix any of the issues he is addressing with the moving to on-prem servers. It is irrelevant for the topic.

Exactly, if my chat, my email, my git server, etc. are unpleasant it will make my workflow unpleasant and so will my job as whole. I have changed jobs due tooling being a pain before. I'd never quit on the spot though, I'd silentl

You assume your personal view as the only true view. You give an example which strips away any nuance to the conversation. It only confirms your shortsightedness.

Noone is saying that you should pick someone only based on the skin color. The idea is to bring people, that for some reason is being marginalized by the community in general, to speak. Like the person above mention "where are all the

I agree. Also fortunately, I’m in position where I can refuse to work for a company which forbids me for using Linux. There is no point to me to work on anything else.

If you allow me, my take on the list: * Clojure is a really nice and simple language, but the tooling and documentation comes nowhere near go, also it uses JVM, which would already disquilify as go replacement. * Rust is nice (or even bette

That is the reason why I moved from eMacs to neovim. Emacs on itself is amazing piece of software, but I had to fight my way to setup vim binding on everything. With neovim you just get that by default. Everything is thought around that.
