Cool, thanks. That is a useful page. The reason I arrived at the setup I have is because I got RSI and first switched to a standing desk where my elbows were bent, which caused even more pain. I was forced to try different positions until I

It should be even better as the monitor can be at eye level and the keyboard and mouse can be at a comfortable height.

I've been standing since 2007 and I love it. An external monitor and keyboard setup is important for me, since the laptop keyboard and monitor are too close together to be able to both type comfortably and see the screen with my neck i

I was able to build and flash my Due with this, very cool. The possibilities are really exciting!

Firefox OS includes over the air updates. You can also build your own and flash it if you want.

Check to see if you are on the 1.0.1 or the 1.1 channel. 1.1 is a lot better and has been getting very stable over the last month.

Yes edit: but you will have to wait for a later release (1.2 I think) for webrtc support to be able to make voice calls without a cell plan.

Yep. The Actor model that Erlang uses is exactly what I was referring to being missing from green thread libraries for other languages (C#, python with greenlet or generators, js with generators)

I agree, although I think callbacks are more like COME FROM than goto. You see a function being passed somewhere as a callback, and you know the block is going to execute at some point, but most of the time you have no idea what the codepat

What do you mean add threading support? Last time I used libev (I thought libuv was just libev plus Windows) it allowed creating multiple loops for use in multiple threads just fine. Do you mean adding the ability to move file descriptors a

I agree. The Mac was great at networking in 1993. Sure, MacTCP and MacPPP may have had strange configuration UI but localtalk and ethertalk Just Worked, and getting MacTCP and MacPPP working wasn't too hard.

1.1 is still the b2g18 branch, so no asm.js. 1.2 will be the version that pulls from master (gecko 26 I think?) and will have asm.js.

asm.js is already enabled on Firefox for Android nightly builds. We hope to have asm.js enabled in Firefox OS by the 1.2 timeframe (middle/end of 2013)

It's still a little early to be benchmarking the scheduler as it is currently undergoing a large rewrite, I believe.

You can see some es6 features that are already in v8 and accessible from node here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/13351965/what-does-node-h... No generators yet but they are currently being worked on.

Since they specifically mention compiling to normal js objects and not using the typedarray heap approach that is used by emscripten and asm.js, likely not asm.js.

I don't see that those consequences follow, at all. I see a natural evolution from where we are now to a world where people own their own servers in the cloud and run all the software on them. Or, if you really don't want any data to go ove
