I just tested, and yes on desktop there is an 'Auto-translate' option, even for videos with 'auto-generated captions'. However on mobile (YouTube app on Android, Firefox, Chrome) and my TV the 'Auto-translate'

It's itchy when I'm first bitten, but not painful. Just kind of weird to have a massive lump that looks like another elbow in the middle of my arm :D

From a European perspective pretty much any diesel car here that has done over 200,000km will have had the DPF removed. In most countries it's illegal, but it's also not tested as part of the emissions tests (particulate matter in

Find a politician who wants to raises taxes for everybody in their current term. That's why so many countries are announcing they are banning ICE cars in a decade or more. By that time everybody would have forgotten which politician en

For cargo I don't really see how it could have that much on an impact. Using aircraft we can already transport large volumes of items fairly quickly around the world, yet most freight is still transported by sea because it's cheap

I watched a YouTube video about the economics of scrapping still useable cruise and container ships recently (spoiler: the price of scrap steel is worth more than the cost of continuing to run old ships). One of the mind blowing points was

There has been something in place that can achieve this for a while. I had a MacBook Air stolen in 2014, and got it back a few months later with everything intact. I had a BIOS (or whatever the Mac equivalent is) password set, so without so

I'm guessing most dealerships already have 240V at least. Car lifts need a lot of power, unless you want to be waiting around for minutes to lift a car. That's more than enough to charge a test drive car overnight.

Does anyone know of a tool (extension?) that will translate captions (even badly) for YouTube videos? Sure I could you use youtube-dl and run the result through Google Translate, but I'm looking for something automated.

A lot of these issues "house will be uncomfortable cold" are because the way houses have been built previously (and still are in a lot of places) is horribly inefficient. In my country (it's -5c outside now, so not exactly wa

At least in Europe prices for European vs Chinese panels are not that different. In my country I've seen Chinese panels for €80/ea and locally manufactured for €140/ea (for a ~300w panel). Most people prefer the European pane

If Vitamin D had such a major effect, I would have expected death rates from Southern Europe (Spain, Italy specifically) to be a lot lower than from Northern Europe (e.g. UK, Germany). From my anecdotal experience people in Southern Europe

Isn't LiFePo4 cheaper too? For luxury cars maybe that's not a problem, but for the EV version of an VW Polo, cost is going to be a lot more important. A lot of budget Chinese EVs use it.

I don't know what fuel prices are like in Australia, but here in Europe I pay around €0.05/km to fuel my ICE car. Taxes make up around 70% of that, so an EV tax of €0.015/km (1 AUD = 0.6 EUR) wouldn't be unreasonable onc

It's worth thinking about how many more people will die without the vaccine as well. The RotaSheild vaccine had major side effects 1 or 2 out of 10000 people, that's better than the current estimate death rate of COVID-19.

VS Code does this for TypeScript out of the box. For example if you have a function with Promises it will suggest it be rewritten (and rewrite it for you) using async.

I'm using zod to do the same. If you aren't using fp-ts it will fit a lot easier into your ecosystem.
