I think the funnier ones are the truest. This one is more caricature than anything.

Do you actually find college students that don't know what an exponent is? I feel like anybody with a basic understanding of what an exponent represents should be able to explain why you add exponents.

If your last name is Asian then would omitting your ethnicity gain you anything? I would doubt it.

Its too bad they didn't actually put in much real functionality. Its really just a glorified slideshow. But a compelling slideshow at that.

Agreed. For serious, long-term discussions, forums work a lot better than sites like reddit. As soon as a submission on reddit gets more than a few hundred comments, it really is hard to get everything. I'm a big fan of serious hobby forums

The previous class on iTunes was extremely useful to me. I'm a college student and the fact that it was in a lecture format made it easy for me to digest. Reading a book is one thing, but watching someone give a lecture in little chunks mad

The trackpad on MacBooks are the greatest thing. I got my first Mac about a year ago and I'll never go back to a PC notebook simply because the trackpads are always terrible. Now whenever I use a PC trackpad, I'm astonished at just how bad

I'm impressed with Bootstrap. It's really comprehensive and covers a lot more than other frameworks. I feel like with Bootstrap you could really crank out a web app, without having to do much presentationally. The navigational aids also see

Apple's skeuomorphic design for iCal is bad. iCal has been made to look like a real calendar, but in reality it isn't used like a real one at all. If iCal worked like a real calendar, skeuomorphism would have value, but in its current form,

Everybody who I know (including myself) uses WhatsApp to text people who are travelling, studying abroad, or otherwise living overseas but don't want to pay an arm and leg for international SMS. It's just a text message replacement. It's es

I think we've all seen that the average of many faces creates a beautiful face. http://www.faceresearch.org/demos/average This is an interesting experiment, but it makes a pretty ugly font. It's a muddy in-between that doesn't have the be

I think it's about time British-style or "logical punctuation" of quotes becomes standard. Especially coming from a programming background, it just makes more sense. Periods should go outside the quote if they aren't actually part of the qu

That's easy: Cheap, fashionable clothes that have good fit and are of relatively high quality. The quality of Uniqlo blows Gap or similar stores out of the water. I wish they had stores outside of NY. But Uniqlo is great.

This looks like a bad Apple-fication of HN. The font choices and stylistic motifs are all taken from Apple and applied to HN in a hackneyed way. There's no soul in the page. HN is very unique and the redesign just strikes me as bland. There

Ridiculous. If we had our priorities straight, there would be low unemployment. Our infrastructure is crumbling beneath us, yet we won't spend any money to fix it. Instead we're fighting a handful of wars abroad that doesn't help us at all.

You make a good point. Execution is just as crucial to Apple's success as the good taste. Palm and HP never had much success because they couldn't execute on the hardware front. They were continually behind the curve on hardware and continu
