The lack of window snapping is mind boggling to me. My home computer has lxde on it, which includes the feature.

I was surprised to see the middle finger gesture a common symbol in the fonts, why is that? I’m assuming it has something to do with demoscene culture?

I really like the idea of using games to teach command line concepts, like the author did with grep and find. There have been several other ones that have popped up about using vim [1] and navigating a filesystem via cd/ls[2]. I'

I think there's also valuable side effects here. If you want to start your own community off of corporate sites, you'll have to learn a little about deploying websites, webhosting, maybe a bit of PHP. Maybe you'll learn abo

I'm trying to start my own forum for my friends and I to use. I'm having trouble getting that initial momentum though... it's hard to beat plain sms texting.

This is a pretty interesting approach, but what is the point of it being open at all if it is prohibitively difficult to develop on without tests? To me it seems like a happy medium of being accessible while still protecting your livelihood

I keep seeing references to sea shanties everywhere, but I haven't been able to figure out why either.

I mentioned this in another comment, but another difference is the ads are super relevant because the target audience is so niche. Like, people that are interested in RPGS that buy the mag are going to be interested in product specifically

I'm too young for the glory days of the mags, but from what I understand the ads themselves were even fun to look at, because at least they were extremely relevant... skateboarders like skate products.

Two thoughts: First, these magazines are surprisingly content dense. From the few I flipped through there weren't many ads. Other beloved vintage magazines, like Skateboarder Magazine, are very ad heavy to support their industry. Se

I'm assuming you mean the streetcar, and I'm a proponent of it. People get hung up on the fact that the loop is so small right now, so they claim it as useless. I understand that sentiment, but it is nice for spending an entire

Ada does this well with its concept of subtypes; so you could subtype Int to your unit, and even give it valid ranges. It's then typechecked by the compiler.

Also got excited to see Cincinnati on the front page. I love it here, but the public transit is lacking. People from out of town are also often surprised when I tell them that it's very hilly here, and it makes cycling tough . Good

I was of a similar mind this year, but when I went to Walmart's website, they had 3rd party sellers on there too. It is really annoying, especially with the pandemic, trying to sift through all the trash online. I ended up buying we w

I think that the GBA is great because of the kinds of games you can make for it. It is a perfect blend of having hardware limitations to inspire creativity but being powerful enough to have games with enough depth to be compelling. Golden S

This is good to know, I usually stay away from what I can tell is a "lifehack" style repair on YouTube, and I try to buy real parts. And good to know about the mechanic, I have a good relationship with mine and now I know how to

I find that the order of most user friendly to least, in terms of the "big 3" BSD's, is FreeBSD, OpenBSD, and NetBSD. But a lot of people love OpenBSD; personally I like it because it has the boggle command line game.
