There are new programmers coming of age every day, so the proportion that even thinks about Objective-C at all (never mind advocates it) is going down down down.

Tangential, but I've always found Mustache's tagline "logic-less templates" confusing - what they mean is that the template language doesn't have control flow. Logic is not a synonym of control flow in my mind.

I would characterise the "losing their minds all day about Final Cut Pro on iPad" that went on as... moaning about subscription pricing. So not positive either.

Isn't that less about Flash the browser plugin and more about Flash the application/IDE? If there were a fantastic accessible authoring experience for Canvas/SVG content then it could be much like the glory days of Flash.

Probably code for the servers of a big-ish commercial online game. I haven't logged on and played that game myself for like a decade. Next up would be random ETL scheduled processes in back-offices.

How's it namespace pollution? It won't cause any clashes in either std or the user's code. It's just a few directories moving slightly higher up in a directory structure (which as an aside, is even deeper than you might

What's stopping you sticking with Deno CLI, using it for free forever, and completely ignoring anything related to Deno Deploy? In this relationship of 3 years and counting, they are the positive contributor because they give you somet

If they provide a compelling product offering, and the people understand what's available where, and choose to use it, then I guess that can be called vendor lock-in. But it's hardly nefarious.

The standard library is separate from the Deno runtime and is currently pre-1.0 (0.185.0). As the blog post touches on, upgrading Deno itself does not force you onto the latest version of the stdlib. You will need to change the import URLs

Much like there is a good strategy for eBay auctions (snipe them in the last 5 seconds), the good strategy for Udemy is to star all courses that look interesting and then later buy them when they inevitably have deep discounts.

Knowing the virtually dead Standard ML is a curse when it comes to appreciating the aesthetics of OCaml. The two languages have similar syntax, but in just about every way they differ, OCaml syntax took the ugly road :(
