You're right, the reaction to the TOS was something to behold. I think due to the nature of hacking and hackers, most people here hate being told how to do their job, especially for what feels to them to be spurious or irrational reasons. I

Websites (or just specific content on a site) are not guaranteed to be there tomorrow Agreed - it's your time downloading and organising stuff versus the possibility that it might one day go away; for me, it's rarely a contest. I can imag

I don't like it, because it goes again my own beliefs in what constitutes effective teams. As a geek herder, I can't think of anything worse than a team full of "rock stars". The best teams have a mix of good people who excel at different t

I mostly use Google Reader. I use the shareaholic firefox extension to add non-RSS sites to my Google Reader shared items, so I can search for them later - I don't share publically. To a lesser extent: evernote, readitlater, and firefox boo

What kind of things can a 3 year old do with a computer? An actual computer? Check out the games on pbskids.org - esp. the Curious George ones. For under <3s, you will probably need to "drive" the mouse while the kids tell you what to

Once again, click through to the referenced Danah Boyd's talk if you haven't already: http://www.danah.org/papers/talks/2010/SXSW2010.html It's a perfect dissection of the Google Buzz issue, which encapsulates this whole debate.

The irony is that I (and countless others I am sure) would rather be stuck in an elevator with Stephen Fry than Steve Jobs. However anybody who has followed Fry's tech writing knows how big a deal this must have been for him, so I am happy

Not in any one single way :-) I think you might want to look at http://www.toodledo.com/ - it is actually quite powerful (aka "complicated") but the amount of complexity is user configurable. So if you don't care for a certain category, y
