Greece is a good example of what happens with an over-reaching government, high taxes, and expensive social programs. You are joking, right? Greece is a good example of what happens when the state fails in two of its most important functi

I am very confused by this subthread. If you run the MacOS client, and you are a premium subscriber all your evernote data is locally available on your hard drive - it's unencrypted and easy to see and parse.

I assume it is too much to hope that next time someone will think twice before taking the piss out of a person whose circumstances they know nothing about. Naively, I forget that many treat it like an opportunity for some kind of freak show

the reality is you’re doomed if you’re even asking yourself the question. You know what I think? I think people who tell themselves ‘if I make $X million, then I’ll stop working and do what I want’ never make that $X million. I'm not sure

I don't have the designer chops to explain it clearly Actually that was a pretty clear explanation from where I'm sitting. And yeah, I've noticed that too, but I have to say it is serving to modify my aesthetic expectations - now I get ja

Without the enormous quantity of dark matter that gravitationally binds our galaxy together the centrifugal force would cause the galaxy to fly apart. I think you have confused yourself. Dark matter was postulated to explain why the veloc

I would be stunned and amazed if e-ink readers were NOT $99 this Christmas. Hell, I bet next (2011) Christmas you'll be able to get them for free (eg. buy 1 Kindle for $100 and get a $100 e-book gift card free). The money's in the content.

Because they, as parents, are entirely responsible for the kid's very existence. Adults are, to a large degree, responsible for themselves, much as we may love them.

Yeah, I donate to charity. I also donate to open source projects. I give to bloggers. I buy freemium-service subscriptions even if I don't need the features. I give to buskers. Why? Because it feels right.
