The type of thing OP is talking about is actually quite common in Sweden, but as a non-profit (on the teachers behalf, that is). My mother is a teacher and I've worked in a school, and the use of http://www.lektion.se/ is very widespread.

Also, why not mine litecoins (cpu's are good at doing that, so no drivers needed and he can mine bitcoins at the same time) and sell them for bitcoins? They are worth enough that his profits would go up noticeably much.

What kind of people use G+? Only times I visit is when linked, and it's often some OSS-guru who has written something there but I dont ever use it, nor does anyone I know, not even remotely.
