A lot of them are also about nulls and == vs ===, which are weird, but they're weird in many langs. Like Python has the whole == vs `is`. You just learn the convention and use it. Same with typecasts.

A lot of those are stuff I'd never do like `Test.prototype = null;`. Some are legit footguns, but they rarely get in your way. Python has weird file imports (no relative ones either), broken package management, historical differences b

There are reasons all those Py libraries with C code didn't just do it in SWIG.

There are certainly weird things about it, but they're all things you can ignore especially in modern times, whereas in Python you're constantly dealing with it head-on.

The imports/packages situation is terrible in general. This was basically broken until uv, and uv is still not the default. And it's weird how you import files. They're dot-separated packages that resemble file structure but

Python's strength is that it's easy to make C libs work in it. That's also why CPython is de facto the only Python implementation and stuff like PyPy never took off.

JS is a lot less weird than Python. And Python is what I started with and continue to use half the time. The article missed the most common one, __name__ == "__main__" like wtf

Yeah, the reality is you never break even. It's only a thing if the two options are similar pricing.

It's fair. But I'm not going to visit Twitter anymore because the website is laggy and glitchy, even with an account.

A lot of kinds of speech became allowed that weren't before. Old Twitter had banned several politicians including US Congress members for their views, sometimes for things like misgendering someone. Also banned NY Post.

This is why my wife's iPhone 6 is still better in real life usage than the latest flagship Android phone. Playing high-end 3D game vs not screwing up the group chat.

Guess cause it'll still do local builds and stuff, and probably do a lot more of those if the agents are spamming builds and it's something like Swift or Rust that takes a lot to compile

I don't really care about gaming, but there's a PC I got for free a while back with a 2060ti that overheats if I don't peg the fans at 100% and keep the case open. Would be nice if that holds on.

Wait, their website only shows preorders for M6 or M5 Pro, and they have nothing about the M4. So do they currently have zero Mac minis in stock?

That too, it's either Mac mini or Rpi if you care about power, and the Rpi is very limited.

Uh idk, I have a desktop and laptop that are both base. The laptop is an M4 Air which is overall faster than M1 Pro, especially single-core where it's even faster than M3 Max.

I've never done a test. That means 1. you know it's a test 2. you get like 5 back-and-forths or 5 minutes 3. you have a human subject to compare to. But pretty sure I'd pass anyway, as the judge or subject.

Keyword is pro. Non-pro chips drive fewer screens unless you use DisplayLink. Which I did at some point, it's a hack but ok for lighter usage.

It's like, you pay laptop prices for laptop performance but without laptop portability or desktop modularity. This only sorta made sense back when Apple had no "prosumer" desktop offering unless you wanted a cheap used Mac Pr

Honestly the screens become more of a liability than an asset to me past 2 (including the laptop screen). I've tried. Even if I'm knee deep in work and have like 4 servers I'm monitoring, my eyes are only going to look at one
