Also it'll be truly too slow. You need to at least be able to access a shared document while a video call is going. The funniest recurring thing when working at Google was new hires getting baited into taking a Chromebook, then not bei

I thought the question was low-end MacBook + mini vs high-end MacBook. The low-end one has all those nice things. I wouldn't sacrifice that. If it has to be MacBook + super old used mini as home server, so be it.

My goto. Even ignoring speed, it's nice to have a remote machine that keeps doing whatever it's doing while your laptop is closed. And the ARM Macs idle at such low power that it's not wasteful like my MacPro4,1 was haha. My

The test doesn't say that the judge has to be experienced. But I also don't care if some random gullible person can't tell the difference. Nothing passes the Turing Test for me yet. Edit: Also doesn't say anything about

Suspicious of what? GM had the EV1 then the original Volt, which looked ridiculous.

I went to Paris a month ago and saw paid public toilets. Those enclosed things on the sidewalk.

It was common to store ipfs:// links to the assets, which is reasonable. Though some of them didn't.

Looks like at least some of the valuable ones did though. The json payload is on ipfs, then the image url is ipfs://. Example: https://bafybeihpjhkeuiq3k6nqa3fkgeigeri7iebtrsuyuey5y6vy36n... (they stored an ipfs hash o

Even aside from battery life, high TDP means thermal throttling under sustained load. Which most of these benchmarks don't really test, or if they did, the ambient temperature affects the results.

They don't publish sales numbers, but I've never seen one. So probably somewhere between 10 units and significant market share.

Yeah that's pretty typical in 2-door sports cars. You don't want to let the battery die and have to do the mechanical open. Gets especially sketchy with a soft-top. There's also the classic glitch where your window doesn'

Gen 1 leaf looked super weird like it was making sure you know it's an EV, never saw a Renault ZoE in real life but it looks like the same kind of weird, eGolf looked normal but was after the Tesla Model S. And the Tesla Roadster preda

Vim and Tmux. Does psql count too? I'm not really a fan of TUIs aside from that, most stuff is just CLIs. Claude etc do make sense as TUIs too, but I don't like they way they were implemented. They mess with basic terminal feature

It's probably because they started mandating reverse cameras. Which is great, but any cars without screens suddenly had them. At that point, it was probably cheaper to put the rest of the functionality on the screen.

Yeah, everything about it seems trying too hard to be cool. My friend let me drive his new Tesla for a bit and I was like nah. Then a month later he was complaining to me how annoying it is to activate blinkers on it.

Isn't it only the Model S that has those electric door handles that pop out on their own? And the cheaper Model 3 has hidden ones that you pop out yourself.
