That's land in the middle of nowhere. If you're near a city you can get a nice premium as the suburbs expand. 4x is a bit extreme (been a long time since it was that much). But it's expensive. In the middle of nowhere th

You got it mixed around. Income is equal for both parties, but the family in the 300k house pays more in taxes because they deducted less interest from their income.

FWIW, only the interest is deductible, not the entire payment. I agree with the sentiment though. The realtors have arguably the most effective lobbying efforts, and to be able to tie their industry in with the "American Dream" ha

No idea if my idea is feasible or not, but I have 3 concepts for how it could work out: 1) it's hella expensive to make transcripts of podcasts. Allow users to contribute a set amount for podcast transcriptions they're interested

This looks very promising! I've thought of doing something similar and started (very slowly) on the project a month ago. What are the data sources you're using for the transcripts behind the api? As an idea for others who are bett

My current role is at a large company, and a significant portion of my work is getting Excel reports which are broken and fixing them. Most I've never seen working. Some reports have been broken for years but need to be resurrected.

I've found PocketCasts (on Android, not sure of iOS) to be my favorite app. It allows 0.1x resolution. It won't get you 1.75, but 1.7 or 1.8 will be nearly identical.

It's best to simply look at it relative to expenses. If you want to retire in HCOL, you could do it in the same amount of time as someone in LCOL if you save the same % of your income. If you want to move to LCOL, estimate the expenses

Knocking off 18k for 401k and 5.5k for a Traditional IRA dramatically reduces the tax liability. I recognize 50k-32k = 18k (so the full 23.5k can't be executed in this case), but it makes a significant difference regardless. And there
