I'm not saying Jira is great. I'm just surprised that people, particularly ICs, hate it.

Yes. I've used Jira for years and never understood the hate. The only times I have had real problems have been with particular idiosyncratic configurations or conventions that someone at my end has put in.

Do that, and set up a sensible network of polling places with appropriate opening hours so that everyone can vote easily without 100k people all turning up at the exact same time and trying to squeeze into the same crowded space.

That was essentially my point. With euthanasia and abortion you will find plenty of people who would call them unambiguously harmful and think they should be banned outright, regardless of context. You'd be hard pressed to find people

The relevant difference between medicine and software development is that doctors provide a service and software developers create a product. A doctor's responsibility is solely to the patient. When the treatment ends, the doctor has

A solution for that is for judges to award costs based on the merits of the case and ability of each party to to pay. Tricky case where both sides have a legitimate reason to believe they are in the right - no costs awarded. Borderline bar

The left does not want people hooked on benefits. Paying benefits is expensive in a socialist society. The left wants workers who are properly compensated in line with the value they provide, and a social safety net for when they are unabl

Briefly, my point is that tax efficient charitable donation schemes can only be said to benefit the donor if you start with the assumption that part of their lifestyle includes the charities getting a certain amount. E.g. if I want the cha

Yes, you pay less tax overall, but the reason for that is that the money is treated as having been given to the charity pre-tax. It does not make your net income go up. In the illustration in your link, Sue gives 1k to charity, and as a re

That's not how reducing your taxable income works. If you earn 50K, you net 37640. 51K and you get 38220. If you earn 51K and donate 1K, you net exactly the same as if you just earned 50000. i.e. 580 less than if you had just kept it

I would blame nefarious church leaders who should know better but deliberately misrepresent the scriptures to their own end. The verse structure does facilitate this. For example: Leviticus 18:22 seems quite popular amongst homophobes, but

The trouble with running these sorts of things as a web service is that it often means the assessment has to happen after deployment. Obviously, it doesn't have to be live. You can deploy to test.example.com and try it out there, but I
