TextKit 2 is a disappointment tbh I hope they’ll do a TextKit 3 that will use modern design patterns…

Yup, same. Save dialog only happens if I have added some text (but will still happen if I remove the text I added, which I expected anyways).

The shaders are nothing. I’m kind of appalled by everybody telling “oh shaders, it’s expensive!” OP probably has been hit by the electron bug, which does indeed kill the performance of the whole OS…

RapidAPI (ex. Paw) does that AFAIK. Also, it’s an amazing app.

I have an M3 max and see literally no difference in performance. YMMV I guess! I do have performance issues on my iPhone 13 mini, but I expected it.

And even on Safari. But there are indeed chrome-only features AFAIK.

Oh my bad. I was convinced it worked with any password manager, but I verified and it does indeed works only with the iOS password manager.

While I agree with the sentiment, technically you can always fill in the username password via the password manager now (at least on iOS).

Swift has an open-source and fully supported first party LSP integration and VSCode plugin, as well as a very active and welcoming community (forums). Using Swift w/o Xcode is now 100% possible and very much recommended by some people

That I’m sure of: Swift is extremely underrated and actually very close functionally to rust. I don’t know other languages, but I’ve heard a lot of good things about zig.

Yeah yeah, in rust… You know rust is not the only language in which one can write good code, right?

I don’t know if you remember iOS 7, it was a catastrophe. Designs evolve on Apple platforms, usually in the correct direction. Anecdotally, I have used Liquid Glass since the first beta and I honestly think there are a lot of good things th

Interestingly the animation when an app is opened has actually been sped up in iOS 26! On macOS you can speed up/disable the animations using some hidden defaults (you can easily find that on the internet). Personally I like the animat

Absolutely not. Currently the only thing preventing us from having a “chrome is the internet” situation is because WebKit is pushed. If WebKit was the only browser I would not say the same.

Except you ignored my second point which is the browser is in use throughout the system anyway. Yes it would be less likely to attack but still possible. Also a 100% safe browser does not and will never happen.

If NetNewsWire becomes a web app it would make me immensely sad. There’s no way a web app would feel as good as a native app, particularly this one. (To be clear, I would immediately change my RSS reader.)
