The main problem with this entire article is that sometimes, if not most times, you don't need great steak. Sometimes you just want to satisfy your hunger and if the steak is lower quality meat or if it's overcooked, you don'

I interviewed at IBM back in the mid-90s right out of college for "Internet consultant". I was given an aptitude test and the hiring manager said that I scored one of the highest he had ever seen. He then proceeded to not give me

Just out of curiosity, would dumping a ton of bleach into the mixture get rid of the smell by breaking apart all of the components? Or maybe high concentration acid?

No, I started with Philips Hues but then gave up and migrated to Cree light bulbs with Lutron Casetas because the Hues kept dying. These are over 2 different houses as well. I wonder what is going on if it's just me

I had a bunch of Philips Hue LED light bulbs until they started dying within a couple of years or less and the replacement costs were ridiculous. That's when I switched to Lutron Casetas.

I've never had LED lights last anywhere near the purported 5-7 year timeframe. The worst ones are the small decorative ones with the tinier screw part that my house seems to have an inordinate number of. Those last maybe 6 months and t

Not supporting FP8 is a pain in the butt though. It feels like there are more compromises using Apple Silicon than just going with nVidia and CUDA.

Japan is at well over 200%, and has a very real population crisis. Italy is 138%, France is at 117%, Canada is at 110%. UK and China are around 100%. 123% comparatively speaking isn't great, but it's not shockingly terrible.

I keep seeing more and more LLM models being loaded by incredibly under-powered machines. Is the GPU/memory crisis all lies? I get that running on an RTX 5090 will be much faster, but if we can use main memory instead of VRAM and get b

The "old web" hasn't existed in 30 years now. I was a part of the old web and if people in the early 90s knew that someone was profiting off their work it would have killed it immediately.

Why would you produce content and have no one read it or visits your site, but OpenAI and Anthropic make millions from it? At some point it becomes stupid to just give free money to these companies when they steal literally all your traffic

All new content will be behind paywalls. This will be the new way the Internet works and I've said this for the last several years. There's no value in writing unique content just to have AI steal it and distribute it without you

There are still bugs in the compiler as well as in optimization that can be created. The only thing stopping bugs in production are unit tests. That's exactly the same as with AI-generated code as well.

The greed with which the tech companies and data center providers are consuming electricity will be their downfall. By trying to make a few extra bucks by passing on some of the costs to consumers, it will trigger a huge political backlash

What are you talking about? This isn't talking about long term risk at all. This is within 28 days of the 2nd dose. That is well within the reach of a clinical trial. The clinical trial should have detected this, but it was rushed. Pla

No. Risk of myocarditis for males under 40 after the 2nd dose of Moderna was at >4X higher than the risk of myocarditis. This is indisputable. There is a clear signal that the vaccines caused injury that weren't detected until year

All the doctors and medical professionals were forced to get vaccinated in early 2021. If something went wrong, the very people that we depend on could have suffered mass casualties. And many of them did suffer from effects from the vaccine
