What defines a big acquisition? Price or comparable size of the acquirer versus acquired?

I like the example, but can you say that NeXT was a large acquisition for Apple? How big was NeXT compared to Apple? Does size matter in this analysis? I believe so. I don't know much about this particular acquisition, but I always as

I was going to write the same. Around.co seems to have been able to monetize well and secure funding. Well done OP, I wish you lots of success. I know from experience that as a solo dev this flat.social is an amazing outcome.

The only problem is that it lives inside emacs. I have tried many times using org-mode but I have never succeeded because of Emacs. I guess it is an incredible editor but not for me. I wish there was a beautiful sublime like orgmode app for

The problem is that a lot of times they act like they are the trademarked brand in the ad to trick the user. This is unethical and should be illegal.

I am no fan of the patent system, but what you propose is worse. Companies can get a license but by a price defined by the market. Giving this power to some burocrat seems odd.

The comparison with USSR is naive. The question is not capitalism vs communism. Is the kind of capitalism we have. We have one where when the banks and people make bad decisions and get bankrupted with valueless contracts, the government sa

But there is a cap on how much an individual consume. The same amount distributed among thousands would reallocate the money more efficiently.

The Biden campaign nor Hunter Biden have never discredit the material. The fact that I really do want Biden to win does not make Glenn’s piece factually incorrect. I prefer Biden despite this shady story. Still, I commend Glenn for taking a

Ironically, he co-founded TheIntercept by fear of being censored by editors in big media. TheIntercept sells Greenwald’s reputation to fund the editors who are politely censoring him. His resignation speaks volume of his integrity.

Well. If so, they made it easy for him. TheIntercept is over. People seem to forget who Greenwald is and why he co-founded TheIntercept. He has more credibility than all these editors combined. Good luck for them.

I don’t believe you have read even Greenwald’s side. If you read, you will understand his opinion even if you disagree with it.

If you read Greenwald’s piece, you will understand why he disagrees with you. I, personally, credit his ethics more than I credit TheIntercept’s editor and this is why I immediately subscribed his substack.

The anecdotes told here suggest that most think their work is sequential, while because a lot can happen asynchronously, hell situations happen all the time. Do you agree?

But the workflow only "looks" sequential, isn't it? In many stories told here a user may have inadvertently revert clauses to old versions and this can be missed. This happens because it is also an asynchronous work.

This is the argument all monopolies use. If they open up, they cannot warrant the quality. The telecom operators could say the same thing not to open their networks. But at that time there was no consumers defending the telecoms. There are

It would be fare if it wasn’t a monopoly. Only if other companies could create their own app stores that worked on iPhone the customers would be optioning. In the current state of affairs there is no option. Remember there was a time you co
