My understanding is: Oracle publishes updates for latest release until the next release. Then they drop maintenance of that branch, and RedHat picks it up (at least they did for 8, 11 and 17) and keep supporting/backporting fixes, with

According to https://inside.java/2023/09/19/the-arrival-of-java-21/ Oracle provides roughly 3/4 of the commits and fixed issues. It's a majority, but there are other significant players (always

Maybe MS needs to advertise their new features. Java is developed in the open, we have had previews of the new features in the previous releases and the Java community has already written gazillion of articles about them. Today we celebrate

It's only a matter of time before IntelliJ (or some plugin) translates it on-the-fly. Reviews on GitHub will be annoying though.

If you are on an assembly line and you have 45 s to do your job you either do it, or don't. If you do it fast and wait for 40 s you don't add any value.

What? Zoom (by default with auto mic adjustment) catches everything. Typing on laptop is especially bad as it is closer to the mic than the person speaking (unless there is external mic), so it's like a stampede of rhinos.

They advertise the "4K per eye" as some kind of an advantage. They need to do this to have 3D vision, but it doesn't improve the resolution, it's still just 4K. And the 4K is across your whole FOV, I would like to see a

What a pile of nonsense. Yes some dumb jobs will go away, but more will be created and people will quickly adapt. Leaps in productivity never lead to increased unemployment or reduced standards of living.

Average car age in US and EU is somewhere around 12 years. EVs are still a minority (growing, but less than 50 % and it will stay that way for a few years). Most of the ICE cars sold now will be on the roads in 15 years.
