I don't know, it seems pretty clear to me. It beats doing let newScore = (await (await fetch(url)).json()).ID and no, a myriad of intermediate variables is not always a nice alternative. This syntax gives a clear view of what ha

The title is mildly confusing right now, I parsed it as "Abusive (Ad Blocker)" instead of "(Abusive ad) blocker" and wondered why they would want to boast that on their blog

I initially read the title as "John Carmack's VBScript Samples" and I was very perplexed as to when would have John Carmack ever had to mess around with that...

The professor which lectured the algorithms course at my university (and some others) published a paper some time ago which seems relevant: http://pages.di.unipi.it/bodei/publ-40/Fun07.pdf "Knitting for fun:

Wasn't "x86 emulation" basically the WinChip's and Cyrix's strategy in the late '90s-early '00s? I don't remember that ending too well, unfortunately...

Exactly. As someone who has been asked to teach an IT technician friend how to program, it's absolutely not a trivial task. You would think the problem solving skillset of a technician would help, but nope.

I can definitely hear songs in my head. I can go one step further, I can "visualize" how to play the melody of the song I'm hearing on a guitar neck. The rest of my "visualization" skills are very poor, though. Peop

You could consider that in PID control the actual algorithm is the single iteration, after which the output is sent out and a new set of inputs comes in, thus restarting the algorithm. In an endless iteration, you never give out any outputs

Off topic, but seeing the word "embeddable" in this context reminds me of old Microsoft OLE. It was kind of cool being able to drag an excel table inside an Access form, together with a media player and stuff like that...
