Facebook has a different level of access. Seems to me like that would be all kinds of unethical.

Are you seriously suggesting Facebook use it's employee's private account data as part of hiring & performance management?

Oh it's so much worse than that. The EDID is typically implemented with an I2C EEPROM connected directly to the AUX lines. The "edid read" procedure is no more than reading "0xA0", the standard EEPROM I2C address, o

This is the exact wrong approach to incident management. A business intending not to make this kind of mistakes again would hold a post mortem and fix the system failures encountered. Marriott just needed a scapegoat.

I'm generally in bed for ~8 hours, and sleep 6h30-7h30 of those hours (6h50 on average). Had you asked me to give you an estimate 6 months ago, I would have said "8 hours". Getting a Fitbit watch was a big eye opener.

I'm disappointed in Robinhood. They've done great work making equity investment approachable to people who are traditionally alienated by it. Their mission, "[...] to democratize the American financial system." caries fa

Sadly, NNT gets a key detail wrong: Bitcoin isn't controlled by its users, it's controlled by the miners.

Good firmware engineers are incredibly hard to find. I know, I’ve hired two dozen. If you’re a firmware engineer and you’re getting paid less than the software people, leave.

You assume, wrongly in my opinion, that the main value of a prestigious university is the classes that they provide. From my experience (n=1) there are great instructors to be found at many (most?) universities. Indeed you will likely get b

I'd love to know who makes those critters. Does walmart have a full-fledged robotics team working on it? Did they acquire someone? Or are they buying them from someone else?

In order to look up glyph in your font, you'll typically need a 32bit unicode code-point. A utf-8 string encodes those code-points using a variable-number-of-bytes scheme, so you need to decode each code-point before you can render it.

What you are suggesting does not fall under the First Amendment, and indeed would be hugely freedom-denying. Private individuals and businesses have always had the right to (non-violently) restrict speech in their private spaces. As long as
