I wish there was an extension that would search simultaneously on different engines and present them in columns side by side.

It's always fun checking Google's ad settings and seeing what they think I'm into. Apparently now I'm into baseball, flowers, boating, celebrities, country music, credit cards, geology, event ticket sales, fishing, and w

People could certainly run hand-curated indexes and search engines seeded by such. I think marginalia.nu search behaves somewhat like that. I'm really interested in the idea of decentralized search where everyone has the power to choo

Last night while doing a search, I found myself pondering the fact that recently I've been using DDG more than before.. and it's not because DDG has become so good, it's because Google has become so trash. Ironically, only a

I'm hoping I could find a community interested in.. I don't want to say exactly "low tech" computing but I guess the idea is pretty close. Cheap microcontrollers today are incredibly powerful.

It was about five minutes of filling a form with the national authority. There are some responsibilities that you get along with it (e.g. you're supposed to do risk assessment and document your approach to risks and security, etc.) but

Notice the difference between organizations and private individuals (which the quoted UK regulations seems to protect). I don't know if it's EU wide but Finland also requires banks to provide service to private individuals.

It's not that complicated. For a basic TCP socket application, you need a couple dozen lines of code. Explaining how it works isn't going to require a 1000 page book. Of course networking and network programming is a deep topic
