You would think modding a negative number -x by m should really mean taking the mod of the inverse of x in Z_m. Additive modular inverse. Eg -2 mod 3 = 1. In Z_3 we have 1 + 2 = 3 = 0, so -2 -> 1.

Fresh in-pouring of victims to sustain the whole thing, while some bigger players benefit. Im sorry, I don't want to argue anymore with crypto advocates. There is no more rational discussion to possibly be had about any of the current

The profile picture of the author sums up the whole thing. Emotional outburst. I understand blockchains perfectly. Aiding crime and being a pyramid scheme are the only things they have been shown to solve so far.

Promoting php is truly a head in the sand attitude. Yes there is valuable old software, but come on. Move on if you don’t have to touch it. Stop being oblivious and rejecting advances in programming language design. That probably goes to a

Lol why can’t the program/OS just handle this automatically. Is Apple that far ahead? You need to manually press a button? Windows moment.

Yep bash is not a real language. If anything you are saying it should be deprecated in place for a real language. If people want to do more advanced things why does the basic language of their shell not support it? Why should you not care a

Where did you see e as a series before seeing it as the limit of some growth? I remember seeing the intuitive explanations in school, before anything else.

Anyone have a Haskell version? This or quantum computing seems like you could really just package up with some fancy monad, instead of just a single state it encapsulates a distribution, and you just apply abstract transformations ontop as

I feel that is already the situation with software? Plenty of state of the art machine learning is hopelessly out of reach of individuals, you need racks of gpus and trivia knowledge to know how to actually train something (what random para

I don't see why these are orthogonal objectives. You still have to write efficient declarative code. If I say spawn 10 billion divs as part of the spec then clearly that's an issue. Funny, a lot of developers complain about things

Dropping constant factor does not seem that important to be honest. The important thing to be exposed to/take away was the logarithmic behaviour. I'm sure if you want to go be a seismologist you will quickly learn all the details.
