Surely walking around outside exposes you to plenty of blue light. I think the issue is when people stay up late working at the computer.

I wonder what would happen if you gave this to the top marathon runners. I feel like the savings would be a lot less. They have already quite a high cadence.

Mirroring some of the comments here, just because you don't understand the internals does not mean you can't pick it up and be productive with it. This is what you do with any other language, but it just seems more natural to you

The programming language Mercury which is a functional, predicate based, moded language uses something like a precursor to a sat solver to "run" the program. As in you can ask for the input of a function to make your program true.

The "game" (training) that asks you to analyse "privacy threats" is a bit strange. It feels like it takes two random excerpts from a privacy policy and asks you to compare them, but with this, it feels like it is missing

The definition of entropy from a statistical mechanics perspective, is roughly a count of the number of different (microscopic) configurations, \Omega, of a system. When all the configurations are equally probable, you get the formula S ~ l

For those wanting these ideas described in a more mathematical "language" [0-1] are a good start. If you are interested in studying objects and how they compose, you are probably interested in category theory. [0] https:/&#x

The simplest definition of a Turing Machine is a tuple: -a set of states -symbol set -initial state -set of accepting states -a transition function (plus blank symbol, and an alphabet, but not so important here) Evaluation (computation) is

Sounds wholesome, I think if you have good self motivation you can always do interesting things in your own time. Sometimes I feel like you have to make it a bit of a routine, but it pays off.

Recently, we understood some interesting mathematics and proved an interesting result. Also my running has picked up so I'm feeling really fit.

First of all I was capturing the defn exp(f) = lim_{n \rightarrow \infty} (id + f/n)^n, but yes there are lots of other functions you can define more generally. The exponential just comes up particularly naturally.

The exponential captures the idea of slowly perturbing an object by a small amount. Suppose you start with some object, perform some action on it, then add the result back to your original object. On a manifold you can't add objects to

This year has been a real turn around for me, I'm feeling great. I think R U Ok is a great initiative, quite a contrast it seems to America where mental health is more stigmatised. It would be great if something like R U Ok spread else

People find order and structure attractive. Functional programming is associated to that. I feel like functional programming - maybe more from a categorical perspective - is good at generalising and capturing lots of ideas cleanly. For exam

I'm reminded about Mach's principle [0]. Its interesting to see a connection between local structure and then something more global. [0] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mach%27s_principle

Honestly you can nearly write Haskell without specifying type signatures. GHC is very sophisticated. I feel like there have only been a few situations where I actually needed to specify the type. Really the argument shouldn't be about
