Every sane public school system should. And the systems i know have a though recruiting process. Just because it's not hire and fire it's usually not laissez-faire.

I'm German. I'm not sure what you are talking about. You do need to graduate a "Gymnasium" (years 5-12 or 13, right after elementary school). But any "Gymnasium" will do. Every town has a "Gymnasium", you don't have to move or bake cookies.

I like that design style very much. But I agree that "flat" is not the thing that makes these great. The design looks modern, is a old-fashioned 1920ies style. For me it looks Bauhausish.

While De Beers business plan was/is genius, i think Swaroski topped it. While De Beers sells useless rocks for top prices, Swaroski sell glass imitates of these for similar prices.

you can compile the c code to llvm IR, but why would you do that? LLVM is not a very good VM it's not platform agnostic, some stuff like the the pointer size are set a compile time, c seems to be a better platform agnostic assembler.

I think China has an advantage here. While most Chinese have only one (or maximum two) children to support, the average number of children is higher in India. It chinese parents can afford to spend more money per child on education and I th

On the other hand, at least I think so, the Japanese are using emails instead of text messages on their mobile phones. Text Messages: One of the worst, and still the most popular IM systems.

It does pretty much. It means you can abduct people and torture them, that's pretty much everything a secret service would ever want to do. Google Murat Kurnaz. There was a whole network of CIA prisons with torture in Europe.

Chains of trust can't defend you from this. Only certificate pinning. IMO this shows why self signed is the way to go: There are no authorities you can trust.

I have no idear how "accessibility" is defined. I'd say getty is quite accessible, but well, I don't know, I never relied on it. But yet, that is no excuse to start a hole desktop. Just like a program can use gtk (theoretically) without a g

I have seen j for current density only so far. But physics are convinced you can tell the difference by context (which is usually true, but probably impossible for a compiler, even if physics is "typed" with units). For handwritten text at
