I appreciate the art critic posting this, because I wouldn,t have seen the images otherwise. I find them both hilarious and thought-provoking, as I do the writer's snobbish dry analysis.

It's so easy to shit on someone's work... I personally have set a goal for myself to do at least one commit to my project's repo per day, no matter how minute, even a change in todo.txt counts, and have repeatedly failed to m

I started out by DECIDING that making QUALITY software, as well as spending TIME with PEOPLE who matter to me, is infinitely more important than "professional development". I was lucky to have already had a taste of both, and how

One of my interests is browser history, so I'll list these. Before I begin, shout-outs to Perl, GNU, Windows 2000, Windows 95, Norton Commander, Windows Commander, Linux, BSD, Digg 1.0, irssi, and, of course, HN. Mosaic, the original &

I couldn't figure it out. There's only so much programming juice I have per day/week/month/year/lifetime, and when I was spending all day writing crappy low-quality software which would never last more than a y

The problem with institutional and systemic change is that it is affected by those who are in charge of those institutions, who are easily steered.

I think we need to try every iteration of every possible solution, not just the one we think will be the most effective, because everything we've tried so far has failed.

I certainly think it's worth trying them. And I believe in trying anything three times before giving up. I think the quirky information which you have to dig up is much more likely to be the "secret sauce" than the all-to-fam

Not the best headline, but I think it's a great app idea. As much as we'd like it to be true, we've seen that we can't rely on large entities to make necessary changes without making changes in our own behavior. It'
