Reminds me that according this NYT infographic : http://www.nytimes.com/packages/html/newsgraphics/2012/0115-... about 20% of physicians are in the top one percent. This is the highest percentage of all occupations.

They didn't mentioned the filename at first. What they actually said was : "And a Basecamp user uploaded the 100,000,000th file (It was a picture of a cat!)". So people got the impression that they actually saw the picture. Hence the backla

I would be happy if just the filename (not the extension) is at least obfuscated. I can trust someone and still not be comfortable if he accidentally see that I uploaded "how to file a divorce.pdf" for example.

I wouldn't say that HN is not a business. It brings a lot of exposure to YC and its startups. So, in some ways, your free speech is moderated by private interests. This is not a critic, just a valid point I think.
