Besides the Unreal the game engine, Epic has been making huge inroads leveraging Unreal as a virtual movie set, as seen on Mandalorian. I would assume most of the hardware used in movie production is Mac hardware, so that entire initiative

Apple just did worse than that to them. Now developers can't even work on Unreal Engine from Apple hardware, and those developers aren't going to blame Apple for it happening.

It seems absurdly implausible to me that Apple can produce an ARM chip that can compete with Intel and AMD performance wise. Maybe they can get close enough on power consumption or instructions per dollar to be worthwhile, but I can't
