There are infinitely simpler targets for malware with better returns than writing a package to be used by developers in the hope you'd be able to scoop up random certs and database credentials of limited value. It is POSSIBLE your package w

Curious: what happens to the Eclipse interface and ADT? Do those go off into the sunset or is Google planning to maintain 2 independent development toolkits?

This article doesn't mention what the attack vector is, just talks in general terms about what the attackers do after the server is compromised. A lot of the recent security articles around Apache talk about massive numbers of servers getti

Probably the increase in revenue from having people signup is more than (or is expected to be more than) the loss from people opting out. They look like they're doing well so I'll assume it is working out for them.

Curious what happened here: the Twitter Cards Player options clearly require pre-approval by Twitter for custom cards. Did Ribbon present one thing when going through the approval process and then change the player after the release?

Minor nitpick: the average founder is extremely likely to fail, technical or otherwise. Being a technical founder doesn't really dramatically increase the odds of success. As someone who suffers from "build it and they will come" syndrome,

They SHOULD have it released, no dispute about it, but it probably will take more than a few minutes, particularly for a platform their size. Between testing/validation and documentation it is not unreasonable to suspect that they simply ha

I'm curious why people still use their actual mother's maiden name for the answer for security questions: I just make something up and write it down on a piece of paper or store it in an encrypted file. It means I have to look it up to conf

One of the things they explicitly call out is DNS late binding: it doesn't look like they make any exceptions for CDNs and other services that use geo-IP lookups. You could argue that the speed improvements do away with some of the need for

Spent a bit of time playing with traffic and parking. One of the issues with the dominant traffic sensor tech (inductive loops in the ground) is that they can fail in cold weather: frost heaves in pavement sometimes crack the loop wires. In

There's an argument that this COULD be a platform feature, but it would be fairly simple to write an Android app that provides an IntentHandler for the SMS scheme. I'd never actually come across that particular URL scheme used anywhere: iOS

It isn't an intermediary: you get a signature from your server (no actual file data sent) and then you use S3's support for direct browser uploads to send the actual file data. One additional point to note: this has been possible since 2008

One other nice part about supplying it as a big tiff is that you can push out a PNG and then with a little CSS you end up with a sprite sheet. I bought the colored ones: would be awesome if they came with a CSS file.

I'm curious if they were still evolving HPHPc at the same time as they were evolving HHVM: the chart shows HPHPc as having flat performance over time, while HHVM was getting better over a 7-month period. Could HPHPc have achieved the same p

Had similar problems with RapidSSL (not the wildcards, the regular ones) and it turned out you have to include a cross root CA that chains to a Geotrust intermediate CA (my terminology may not be quite right, but it certainly worked for me)
