It's very clear cut. The sentiment is the same. I don't know where you got it that it's not clear cut. The only thing which is not clear from your article is how will Abe and his corny friends shove their nuclear-friendly wor

Obviously there are many people on HN that consider that to be a good thing. I personally agree, this is the typical comment got. Only obviously blinded people wouldn't see this.

I also noticed this. I wouldn't be surprised if there was some editor-in-chief who basically scores the comments based on his taste.

False dichotomy. You are trying to make this black or white while there are many more options beside comments. There are even obvious ones beside comments.

Or maybe the original developer who wrote the code which was so poorly written that it needed 4 paragraphs of explanation did a shitty job . Period. They need to be told to go back and fix it. You see! You argument works both ways, yay!

You made a good point because this code is neither clean nor expressive. The parent comment talked about clean and expressive code. Can you show some of clean and expressive code and try to make the same argument again? (I am not holding my

Sure, and then the next day the whole thing is just a long boring text which has no correlation to reality because the business rule changed and the developer next to you refactored the code.

I would say that "Everyone is doing any language they want, design patterns they just read from a random article, 100s of tutorials on one subject" is far from being true anyway. That might be true if you live in a cave but when y

I find this specially troubling just like abandoning the Edge browser development. Steering away from Mongo just for the sole reason it's not in AWS sounds like a bad advice in general. Also it sounds like a false dichotomy. Implies th

You are implying that the causation goes like this: redux good -> so the app will be good too. And to make a case in point you are trying to make an argument that because many apps are poorly designed, everyone should use redux. You real

Github comment threads are basically like a kicked over dumpster which has all the content landed on the floor. I hate going over them. Something like a stackoverflow style organization would improve a lot.

Beg to differ, yes, implicit call order will result in huge clusterfucks. React+Redux is already causing Frankenstein apps (which is not implicitly caused by those frameworks (ok, maybe except redux) but when you throw in react-redux, react

I find this concept really remarkable and extraordinary. When I first encountered it I was still programming in Java and to my surprise there is an implementation of it in Java, see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/JCSP

I am not convinced by this narrative. I would rather assume that like any ordinary project, Quora also was developed with zero security in mind. I would bet in a huge amount that noone has ever said during any project meeting that `BTW. I t

It's very relevant if the OP read the article or not. Makes his/her argument stronger/weaker because the articles are used as basis for the argument. So 'Did you even read the article?' is a valid question.
