Depression can hit anybody at any time, even the most productive. Burn-out is also something quite a few people suffer from.

Why would anyone want to push somebody into homelessness or into permanent reliance on government subsidies because they cannot find work only because they screwed up? Imagine saying something controversial on social media and having that p

Microsoft Terminal is actually pretty good. I was surprised when I configured git bash as my main shell there and when opening it via right-click in Explorer, it correctly translated the path and opened the shell in the correct folder.

They haven't had a "point-and-click adventure UI" for years. Pressing left Shift twice has been able to find ever single setting, button, code symbol, tool window, etc. since at least 2020. I initially really disliked the new

I don't know how Amazon employees could refute anything like this with confidence. There is no way of knowing whether a small NDA-gagged analytics team exists inside Amazon that is constantly feeding the C-suit fresh data about competi

Or maybe they know that their plans to connect to the fediverse will leave them with tons of personal data they wouldn't be allowed to collect under GDPR. Although that doesn't matter since the EU is considering any company worldw

.NET Framework is still officially supported and targeting anything higher than 4.7.2 is unnecessary since there are no new APIs in 4.8. 4.8 is just a drop-in replacement for 4.7.2 with things like better high DPI support.

In that post [1] some commenters said that the backlight technology for LCDs is the hot stuff at the moment, apparently. You don't want an OLED PC monitor because it will very quickly suffer from burn-in at the typical locations of tas

I don't want my data in the hands of the NSA as much as you don't want yours in the hands of the BND, FSB, or the People's Liberation Army.

All my career I have worked in 1-4 person offices with enough window space on one or two sides. When the sun comes around, close the blinds a bit. It's possible, just not with open floor plans and cubicles.

I really hope it's not Discord... Discord is screaming to be next to go public and throw everything free out and then you will have to do everything all over again. Forums before the mid-2000s were pretty cool.
