I used jEdit for many years on linux and windows, but development has been stalled for a long time. Presumably moment dropped off quickly after the author Slava moved on to other projects. It's a shame. I'm trying http://www.vicoapp.com/

I don't regret working up the ladder at BigCo. I'm ready for something different now, that's all, and I wanted to share my tips for folks going down that path. Please don't interpret the fact that I'm not currently working at BigCo anymor

Agreed this is somewhat debatable. But the language "bare minimum" still applies I think. Remember, this is at a large software development shop, so there will still be dozens of windows machines. Google is the only company I have heard o

A fair point. I don't recall how much if any I documented what I learned at that time. This was when I was still an undergraduate. We didn't have a wiki or any great documentation sharing system. I probably sent a mail to our mailing lis

Copy/Paste actually works in OS X. This is huge. Sleep works on OS X laptops. Sound and video just work. Linux will never fix these things. I ran linux for 10 years and those 3 issues were there that entire time. Yes, I miss many things,

Probably not in the short term, but export to JSON is something I could easily do. I'm curious exactly where you would plan to embed your data and for what purposes.

Thanks for the input. Definitely making the whole line clickable is easy to do and I've thought about it before. No import yet, I know. I debated whether to build import before or after posting and ended up going to feedback as early as p
