   it is confusing to see scientists use vendor specific tools over neural ones. this promotion of one corporation over the rest. IMHO this is against the spirit of academia. I will personally not use Pytorch or any tool based on CUDA.

   it is really disappointing when I see open source projects refuse to use cross platform and vendor neutral APIs like Open0CL and go for Metal, direct3D or CUDA. please don't. you are defeating the purpose of free software!

   maybe this is a good idea for open source projects. they can ask their users to open a page and runs in the background with lower priority than users tasks. when the computer is idle they can mine crypto.
