Do you believe the human condition cannot be explored through nonfiction? Would you entertain the idea that perhaps it may be possible to explore the human condition deeper and more profoundly through nonfiction than through fiction? I thi

It's not about having the time or not, it's about what you choose to read when you do have the time. The difference is that when you read fiction, you are in a world, a physical land that is entirely constructed by the mind of the author.

It's not real. At best it is anecdotal. It's a story. It's imagination. It's entertainment. It's a very expensive form of entertainment when you value your time.

Okay, that's fine, but it's still vendor lock-in. I don't know why it's so hard to understand. If you buy a product and use it and then you can't get out or switch or use the product with some other hardware or whatever, it's vendor lock-i

I saw a video with him in it and someone asked about advertising on TechCrunch and he said flat out, "I don't recommend it, your money is better spent elsewhere." I thought that was nice.

Very nice! It's such a pain to figure out what is going to happen when events occur. This is going to accelerate complex js development substantially.

I think you are simply biased against microsoft and pro apple. What Apple is doing, if they are intentionally not working on ATOM is essentially what Microsoft would be doing if it didn't allow its software to run on apple hardware. Vendor

Yep, exactly. That's the vendor lock-in part. Requiring one of your products to use one of your products is vendor lock-in.

The problem with this line of arguing is that Apple's entire marketing strategy is about how an Apple is better than a Windows machine. Thus, their product, contrary to what you are saying, is not hardware, it's software. Their ads say noth

Please explain how I mis-used the term, considering the definition is: In economics, vendor lock-in, also known as proprietary lock-in, or customer lock-in, makes a customer dependent on a vendor for products and services, unable to use a

So you're replacing vendor lock-in with incompetence. I'm not quite sure which is more likely as there is extensive evidence on both sides of the coin.

You are in the valley of despair. You are feeling the pain. It's normal. Don't give up. There's no magic genie, getting F&F money isn't going to make things better. In all likelihood, it will make things worse. I love what you are d

Am I the only one who actually thinks this is plausible? First, I don't think all the storage will be on hard drives constantly spinning and requiring electricity. Imagine huge tape spools like in the old days but with 10,000x more data o
