I agree. This works until it doesn't. (Rap) Genius tried this a few years back, and was killing other lyrics sites until Google got wind of it. They've never really recovered. https://techcrunch.com/2013/12&#x

It would probably depend on how closely related the tasks are. For instance, there's been a few papers talking about "transfer learning" where a network is trained on video data for the equivalent of tens of thousands of hour

I've spoken to a few people who are interested in applying machine learning to hydroponic farming with the aim of creating vertical farms. If you could isolate the different rooms sufficiently, you could run machine learning to optimis

I know that we're pretty unhappy with Okta at work because they recently acquired & shut down Stormpath, which we were using for authentication. It's made us reluctant to trust Okta & similar SaaS.

Between this and the efforts by police to get Alexa recordings [1], having voice assistants in your home is looking risky. [1] https://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2017/02/amazon-wont-disc...

I didn't know that mkdir took flags- thanks for that. That's really handy. Reference for -p for anyone else who doesn't know: > -p Will create nested directories, but only if they don't exist already. [1] [1] https:&

I work for a reasonably high end software consulting firm. We find most of the work through word of mouth or in-bound responses due to projects we've put on the web. Two suggestions: 1. Patrick McKenzie ( http://www.kalzumeus

That's absolutely true, but you can serve both. Look at Github- they have Github, which is low cost and self serve, and Github enterprise.

Is Price Intelligently an automated service, or do you provide consultants/analysts to do the analysis?

I agree with this. We've been looking at pricing services suggested in this thread, and we've been self-selecting away from the extremely expensive services (e.g. Price Intelligently [1]), as that indicates that the service is tar

Are you aware of any ways to actually estimate demand curves? It seems like a really powerful way to price products, but no one appears to do it.

Also, "you should code like that because that's how we code here" isn't a good reason. If you don't have a good rationale for the changes, I would consider not making them.

Let me know if you're interested in talking about pricing (probably once the work from launching settles down)- I'm working on a pricing analytics service and would love to get your thoughts/feedback.

Hey! I think this is a fantastic tool. There's only one thing: CHARGE MORE! This is easily worth $5 per month per user. It's Github, but lean and fast. There are very few people who would sign up at $1 per month who wouldn't

What worries me about this is the liability- if you mess up someone's asylum claim, they can die, or suffer extreme harm (e.g. if they're tortured). I'd be interested in seeing how DoNotPay manages their liability.

This is the dark underbelly of startups. I think it's important to recognize that this happens- founders keep thinking they can close the next funding round, sign the next big deal, and as a result, employees pay the price. I think it&

Have you done any pricing experiments? I've been tossing around some ideas about how to optimize pricing through machine learning, but I haven't been able to validate the idea at all. It would look something like: 1. Use historica
