That's very polite, with the added bonus of being clear and concise. Not sure why the author took issue with it.

My own anecdotal contribution, based off the constant bickering of people I know who work for engineering firms that have Tesla as a client, is that they do not have any of their shit organized in a manner which could be remotely described

Have to agree. I regularly use Windows 11, OS X, and Debian-based desktop distros. Nothing comes close to the built-in functionality of Windows. Such a shame it's subject to advertising and aggressive telemetry.

Surprised I haven't seen more mentions of Z-wave here. It seems like something that would be more popular.

For me it's the original Motorola Droid and Droid 2. The slide-out keyboards have been the best mobile text editing experience I've had.

> Cloudflare, but they require that you use their DNS This has been my only issue with them so far. Realistically it's not likely to cause any problems for either my personal or professional situations since I prefer to use CF DNS.

Well, the owners win. That's usually who they're referring to when they say "our", "us", etc.

Reading in general to more specific configuration directories in order and using the last value read makes the most sense to me. This is usually how I write my own applications. Anyway, I thoroughly document the order and precedence, but th

Sometimes a filesystem-based queue like that is all you really need. Recently I used S3 API compatible storage for something similar, as introducing AMQP or pubsub would have been immensely overkill for this low volume component.

This echoes my sentiment exactly. My biggest gripe is when type suggestions are replaced with AI suggestions, as I more often just want to auto-complete a method/attribute. I frequently find myself toggling AI suggestions via hotkey. A

There's an extreme difference in severity between trying to buy a bomb and trying to pay for DDoSaaS. I'd rather people come out of this sort of thing unscathed but wiser, especially if they're simply ignorant of the law, whi

I was on a flight where one of the pilots had a heart attack and got to experience weightlessness or close to it for a few seconds. Cool to think about what that felt like now but in moment.. not so much. Anyway, the pilot survived and the

I guess the lesson here is you don't have to use any of the technologies in the project as part of the project name if you don't want to. Especially if the namespace is already somewhat saturated. For my next project, TCPHTTPHTMLC

You had to tweak a lot of settings with EAX to make it sound decent, but you could also configure it so you could hear extreme distances, giving you quite the advantage. I bought a Sound Blaster Audigy Gamer card because of that. I had a hu

The real win was balancing the boiler and TRVs. Automating the boiler for efficiency is neat. I'd have kept a spare thermostat connected (with a physical switch for it's power) in case all that automation implodes, though.
