In my opinion, Elena is good choice. It's very good for reading , and that's the key. Yes, backend is mainly code-focused (github's gist), but people will most likely post not code, but regular articles. So there's hardly anything anachron

It's quite funny that he complains about the icon (quite bad, I agree) that was made by the Iconfactory, and then links to a replacement, again, by the Iconfactory. Makes me wonder, why SL2 icon is so bad. Maybe the author had some unreason

What's subtle about this, and what's genius about this? This layout feels very natural on tablet, but there's nothing groundbreaking at all. Flipboard has been doing that since beginning.

Does "Download as PNG" menu action in File menu work for anyone? That is the only feature I care about, and I haven't seen anything like that before.

I know that true hackers don't anti-alias monotype fonts, but I have been using anti-aliased Consolas for a few years now. It is a font best-designed coding books use ( http://www.abookapart.com/ ), and it should only look better, not worse

Primer. Wonderful movie, the script is smart and complex, budget is tiny, ideas are huge. Watched it 5 times, still don't get parts of it, but it's brilliant.

They seem to have defined their target user, and design around it. And I think most of us are not this target user. I have used Coda since 1.0, but later switched to TextMate and now, Sublime Text. And eventually, I replaced all the good pa

So, the best way to set up Rails on Windows is not to set up Rails directly on Windows, but in Linux VM. Maybe it's not such a bad thing.

No. Placeholders stay visible until user starts typing. That is, empty focused field still has visible placeholder.

Neat, but: 1) What's up with everyone trying to implement this PARTICULAR effect? I'm not saying that fixed-positioned, above-the content menu shall stay unique to Path. But there's no point in copying the same animation, arc of icons, rota

"ARM is a licensing company that develops technology so it can sell licenses." I think ARM falls nicely into "technology company". Calling something "a licensing company" doesn't make sense when they license their own technology products. S

Icon fonts is a cool idea, but they are not "> images". They don't save additional requests (if you use spritesheets), are not smaller (2 color gif vs. full vector font), and most importantly, and why no decent designer would ever use t

It's their right. I really can't understand why people find this bad in any way. If they don't want to contribute, but they are capable of improving the code and making tons of money, great for them. Developer doesn't really lose anything.
