Finding a niche that wants to pay more for content is nothing to be ashamed of. If you believe that agreements are only reached when there is mutual benefit you are benefitting your customers by rehashing the content. It's like an ency

I can estimate it as follows. Cocoa/UIKit works in ObjC. ObjC is a super set of C that translates the objc parts to calls to objc_msgsend. Go supports ARM/OSX. Go makes it pretty easy to call into C Therefore it should be pretty e

I don't know either, c'est la vie. You can't pay rent with upvotes, that's what matters to me.

They could start by pairing social programs with jobs. eg. instead of paying people to go on welfare, they could instead pay them to build a bridge, office tower, housing, etc.

It does need to be paired with growth, however, there is no indication that Greece is prepared to start growing their economy.

No it doesn't matter for getting hired, it does matter for borders. Since you're bored get some experience while in college and that will help out immensely, also the most important language to know is English, from your writing I

Yes, testing the ability to do tasks related to the actual job is refreshing. Similarly, fizzbuzz is generally massively more useful than whatever silly CS problems people are asking in interviews. I use fizzbuzz and character counts (histo

There is no CS industry, there is a software engineering industry. Why industry thinks CS grads are good software engineers is a little beyond me. I certainly would never a hire a physicist to build a bridge.

Couldn't agree more, every time I'm asked to invert a binary tree in an interview I wonder exactly what kinds of problems this company is actually solving. Like do they not have a general algorithm for this in a library? Are they

Node also works well for desktop apps because it's got the run loop. Desktop apps are insanely high frequency IO apps, basically, its an Input Queue reading the mouse / keyboard / touch screen and a run loop, which is exactly

The processing queue is kinda irrelevant, CPU bound tasks require lots of CPUs, and more CPUs if you want a processing queue. Since Node / nginx are already processing queues it's kinda pointless to add another one.

Yup, it's like pretending VISA and MASTERCARD are decentralized forms of currency. At least you can buy a beer with them in under 10 minutes.

The flip side is that with MS as sole client, they could only make AMD64 chips which would mean that intel would have to stop producing x64 chips. If you don't need 386 compat the cross licensing deal becomes a gun pointed at Intel

And that is why people in the market get paid lots of money, no one wants to do it, yet it's essential to the functioning of society. Most people call this being an adult, instead of 'following your dreams'.

Because keeping the current people we have alive and happy is also important. The trick is finding the balance, science and math are probably more important than growing food, until you don't have any food to eat.
