Yes it melts, yes it refreezes. But more is melting each summer, and less is refreezing each winter. That's why there's excitement about opening of the northwest passage - shipping and oil drilling in the arctic that wasn't p

There are 42 years of estimated recoverable oil left (in the top 17 producers) according to 2012 EIA numbers. 1324B/85M/365 = 42.675. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oil_reserves That assumes no consumption grow

The move to superdevmode is the nail in the coffin for GWT for me. It has been my go-to framework for the past 5 years. I really love doing everything in Java (I don't like Javascript, don't particularly enjoy writing HTML, and fi

It's quite simple; net neutrality represents regulations on business. Republicans are anti-(business)-regulation, believing that a completely free market will deliver the best result to consumers. Of course, in this case that disregard

I'm by no means a fanboy. From what I understand the salary thing wasn't exactly a conspiracy, but it was an extremely poor policy. I don't think anybody has much to complain about in terms of the benefits package from google

Yes, exactly. Any webmail service that stores email unencrypted on its servers is subject to subpoena / FISA requests, and there isn't much they can do about it. They could roll out client-side encryption -- but there's littl

I'll simply repeat what I said already: the belief in a creator is as arbitrary as belief in unicorns or the flying spaghetti monster. The only thing that distinguishes it is its long running place in cultural mythology. I highly doubt

There isn't sufficient (any) evidence to justify belief in a creator, magical or not. You are free to believe that there might be a creator, but it isn't any more rigorous than believing in unicorns or flying spaghetti monsters. I

My particular axe to grind here: car manufacturers seem to be unable to create a usable random function on audio players. There's (almost literally) nothing worse than hearing Bohemian Rhapsody 6 times on a road trip (out of 2500 songs

+1 for mauls. Why people use axes to split wood I don't know. I have a 10lb maul which _usually_ will split logs (even large rounds) on first strike assuming the wood is reasonably well seasoned. I used to use an axe + sledgehammer

Specifically which "enterprise" features does IntelliJ community _not_ supply for you? I too am a web developer (at least when wearing one of my hats). IntelliJ community does almost everything I need.

IntelliJ community is free & open source. It's missing some of the enterprise features of the commercial version but it's still a fantastic IDE. There is a learning curve if you're used to eclipse, but it's worth it.
