Yes. I talked to a builder, he thought he was going to have to do R22 insulation across the entire thing because it’s not clear whether it is a wall or ceiling. Ridiculous because the engineering for domes has been around for 70 years. Most

Good luck trying to get permits to build anything the slightest bit unconventional in any populated area. I looked at building a geodesic dome, and was going to end up in the boonies and likely still paying off the inspector to pull permits

Speculation is a huge use case. Bitcoin will never be practical for day to day transactions but it may be for a settlement layer - certainly Ethereum is proving that out right now. A few minute settlement time is a huge advantage over what

That would not work for me. I need to keep one finger on the slip knot at all times or it becomes loose, resulting in a very unsatisfying knot. This has been by far the biggest hurdle to teaching my kids to tie a decent knot in their shoela

Don't want to stay around to do the boring bits required to make a working product that serves a real world use case? Go into academia! Not making a generalization about academics, it's just that academia is one of the few places

I have relied on gps with downloaded topo maps in areas where there is literally no cell reception. iPhone X using AllTrails fwiw, I feel like it must have a real gps radio packed in there somewhere.

I have learned to always check the developer name, and if I'm not 100% sure, I don't install it. It's annoying because there are a bunch of them out there like this. I've also seen the "free but not free" apps

Conan is probably the flagship C++ package manager and supports multiple build systems including cmake. Nuget/vcpkg is also usable but does not come with build system integration.

It's definitely a nightmare if it's part of the culture. If it's a junior developer you are mentoring that's another story.

This explains a lot of my interactions with my peers. Some groups of developers need hand holding, guidance, feedback, and correction. Continuously. The other group just gets stuff done and get normal feedback I”d expect from my own work. W

It would be no problem for me to go back; I don't really use social media and would probably be fine without anything beyond a land line to maintain social contacts. My kids, by contrast, have grown up in a completely different world.

Ethereum has had a few other interesting, non-black-market uses over the years. DeFi, game assets, NFTs, etc. And the technology has actually evolved. Bitcoin is just...still bitcoin.
