I was not connected to work via tor. My ip was listed on the tor network as a bridge. IT simply got all the tor IPs and cross checked it against IPs connected to their VPN and I came up. On another note a coworker downloaded a bollywood mov

I ran a bridge once. First thing that happened is I could no longer use my banks website or app. Got a message that I was using tor. I was not an exit node I guess they blocked all exit nodes and bridges. Second thing that happened is I wor

who would fab their chips though? i can only imagine tsmc getting an obvious nvidia knock off and refusing to fab it for them for fear nvidia would take their cards somewhere else to fab.

Suing Romero for a doom 2 map supporting Ukraine is not a PR move any sane company would do.

When he was fired from ID he was able to use the quake engine (and any future engine which he wound up using quake 2 for daikatana).

When reading the “masters of doom” people were selling custom maps on cds and they were just salty they didn’t think of it. Then they put out final and ultimate doom which is basically that. If they didn’t care in the 90s they don’t care no

My kindle is “ad supported” which I always took as they subsidized it. That being said at least a year ago you can hack it and install ko reader and set the ad directory to read only and you got yourself a darn good Ereader with no ads.

As far as fast food burgers it’s my favorite. Is it a crappy burger. Sure. Is it something I eat 2x a year when I’m in a pinch and it’s edible. Sure.

If you sold a single stock throughout the year you are excluded from all the free tax filing software I’ve seen. A bunch of my income is in RSUs. For us I need a VM to run TurboTax

Yeah mine has 4 gigs which is pretty lean. But it’s soldered on so no upgrade for me!

My personal laptop is a MacBook Air from 2013 and surprisingly enough it takes whatever battery I throw in there. Very easy to replace. Runs Linux like a champ. See no reason to “upgrade”. Surprised thinkpads are more locked than apple!

Yep. The only 6502s that I’ve seen recently can single step. But it’s still amazing they are being sold to this day!

Back in the day you couldn’t even single step a 6502. IIRC the apple 1 manual had a super smart Woz way to nop the 6502 in between steps to keep it alive. That being said I love the 6502 and have a few laying around and will play with this

Personally I deal with word templates and decades old xlsx files. OG office is my only go to and honestly it’s great. I don’t buy office for home so for kids projects it’s great. But not for payday stuff.

It’s hard to beat windows native office. MacOS version stinks and the web version is pretty slow on complicated stuff. That’s why I use windows on my work PC ans WSL for the dev stuff.

My father in law is retired and spends most of the year in Costa Rica. Never mentions visa problems or anything. Just talks about surfing and hiking and stuff. So it must be fairly easy there. Jaco Beach. I’ve been there. Super nice!
