I was a contractor at apple and had to do some stuff to authkit. It was a friggin nightmare. Running daily builds of macOS is a nightmare and the amount of secrecy and “you only get to know what you need to know” is super painful. I dislike

One big thing holding me back from jumping on one is macOS. I’m sure it’s ok but I’ve been using Linux for ~25 years that’s a lot of muscle memory to lose. I really wish apple supported Linux better.

I’ve seen personal cars just drive up and park on the sidewalk. Totally blocking everything. They just put their card saying “nypd” and nobody bothers it. Good luck having a wheel chair and getting by.

I’m more excited for self driving cars when I’m not physically in the car. Why park at the train station when I can ge dropped off. Kids on a play date? Sure I can drop off and pick up it’s a couple taps on my phone. Having small kids and a

All I know on the subject is my college reading of guns germs and steel. Has there been any changes in common knowledge since I read that in 20 years. I think they really explained this fairly well without the usual racism.

I dislike those darn cards. Feels like a micro transaction for hardware. I was very happy when sd2vita became a thing.

I find it crazy because you know they developed all this hardware with Linux. Just release the darn code. I haven’t been at apple for over a year but there was a strong population using apples own arch Linux distro. It’s not like people the

In the article they explain it. People nudged intel to mitigate spectre like AMD. They looked into how they did it to learn more and found some flaws and responsibly disclosed them.

People care about performance per watt now. So they could compete. The real question is if they would support Linux. In our containerized world I can’t see their servers getting super big running macOS

Honestly I live my life in Slack. I've been fully remote for close to 5 years over two jobs. Both jobs were the same (even though the first job at apple only adopted Slack a year or two after I started)

How many people chill out after an atm robbery? It seems a bit of over engineering when I would assume 99.9% of atm robbers are gone 30 seconds after an atm pin is typed.
