I agree that it's not about actual slavery, but it goes deeper than that, and they were named that because the concepts do borrow the metaphor of slavery I mean, the master controls the bus and the slave(s) have to listen to the mast

It was a 386 that Linus Torvalds wrote the first Linux kernel on, and support for the new features of the 386 from the start was one of the reasons Linux took off instantly.

I was taught it's illegal to drive thru a crosswalk when a pedestrian is in any part of the crosswalk, actually regardless of what the traffic signal is. Now, nobody follows that, but yeah..
